The RMC Museum is located in Fort Frederick on the campus of the Royal Military College of Canada.
Hours of Operation
The RMC Museum is closed for the 2017 season while the Fort Frederick Martello Tower undergoes restoration. Visitors are welcome to come to the peninsula and take a self-guided walking tour which highlights 13 significant Royal Naval Dockyard sites. Walking Tour brochures are available at Panet House.
RMC can be reached easily by the Hop On Hop Off Tour Trolley which visits the key historic sites of Kingston. Equally, visitors can drive to Fort Frederick, following the museum signs, but parking is limited.
If you are coming on Highway 401 take exit 623 and head south down Route 15. Turn right on Route 2. Turn left at the lights on to Fort Henry Drive. If you are coming along Route 2 from Kingston turn right at the lights on to Fort Henry Drive.
Turn right on to Precision Drive. At the end of Precision Drive turn right on to General Crerar Crescent. At the end of General Crerar Crescent turn left on to Valour Drive. Before the stone wall turn right on to Point Frederick Drive. After you pass the last building on the left turn left on to Passchendale Drive.
There are parking spaces reserved for museum visitors in the parking lot off of Passchendale Drive. They are in the corner closest to the entrance to Fort Frederick.
Kingston Trolley Tour
The Kingston Trolley Tour can be taken from the Visitor Information Centre in downtown Kingston to the RMC Museum.
